Character Stats & Traits
Stats
Every character has six stats, each assigned a different die:
The Six Stats
- Brains – Intelligence, logic, problem-solving
- Brawn – Physical strength and toughness
- Charm – Social skills, persuasion, charisma
- Fight – Combat ability and aggression
- Flight – Speed, agility, dodging danger
- Grit – Willpower, determination, bravery
Assigning Stats
At character creation, assign these dice to your stats (each die used once):
- d20 (1 stat only if using Powered Character rules)
- d12 (best stat)
- d10 (good stat)
- d8 (average stat)
- d6 (below average stat)
- d4 (worst stat)
Character Traits
Strengths
Positive traits that define what you’re good at or what makes you special.
- Examples: “Bookworm,” “Natural Leader,” “Tech Whiz,” “Fearless”
- Benefit: Can justify adding advantage or narrative benefits
Flaws
Negative traits that create complications but make characters interesting.
- Examples: “Easily Distracted,” “Hot-Headed,” “Afraid of the Dark”
- Effect: GM can trigger for Adversity Tokens or story complications
Fears
Deep personal fears that can be triggered in tense situations.
- Examples: “Fear of Abandonment,” “Fear of Heights,” “Fear of Being Wrong”
- Effect: When triggered, roll at disadvantage or gain Adversity Token
Motivations
What drives your character to investigate and take risks?
- Examples: “Protect my friends,” “Uncover the truth,” “Prove myself”
